Because of Seraphim
A Job Kept Me Home
Nineteen seventy-five was my first year away from home, after transferring to Washington State University from the University of Washington's Seattle campus, where I'd been going to school close to home.
I was looking forward to a new environment in Pullman, meeting new friends, and bringing my horse with me. Seraphim was a dark chestnut, Anglo-Arabian gelding my Dad purchased for me when I was eleven years old. King Hussein: A Legacy of Peace
Arabian Horses for Peace
King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan, (1935-1999,) dedicated his life to achieving peace in the Middle East. He understood the historical significance of gifts in Arab culture, particularly the prized Arabian horse. These horses, symbols of sacrifice, commitment, and survival, were given as traditional gestures of great respect and friendship.

My Mother's Words Remembered
Several years ago, I was working in our art booth at a Morgan horse show at the Monroe, Washington Fairgrounds. I had already completed 8-9 airbrush portraits on tee shirts that day, and new orders were stacking up. My partner, Cheryl Wofford, was handling the orders, and I was smiling, and disappearing into each project as completely as possible to get everything done.
We had stacks of screen printed shirts, airbrushed designs, and blank shirts around us, and customers strained to watch as I airbrushed portraits with splashes of permanent colors onto pristine, white shirts, freehand, "on the fly". My shoulders and wrists were burning from several hours of effort.

Now We Are Texans!
Dear Readers, moving to Texas has definitely helped bring my art to life on canvas! Now, I'm able to paint and sculpt outside while Benjamin plays beside me in the bright sunshine.
I can play with our grandson outside in our own sunshine filled backyard nearly every day. We've even started a small garden with Benjamin!
