Sea Horses to Color
A trio of small seahorses {sea dragons) to color. We used to visit a friend down the street from our grandmother's in Seattle, who kept a pair of living seahorses in an aquarium in her kitchen. While my mother, grandmother, and neighbor would chat, I would sit quietly, watching each tiny hippocampus move slowly around the aquarium the whole visit!

Watching this amazing creature change colors at the Seattle Aquarium was a favorite activity for our family and our four young daughters. This common resident of Puget Sound is a rather large animal, who swims rapidly along the ocean bottom, and is surprisingly intelligent. They have learned to recognise the faces of their caregivers at the aquarium.
